Sodium is found in salt. We need sodium to stay healthy but too much sodium can lead to high blood pressure. The recommended daily sodium intake for an adult is 1500mg. How can we watch the amount of sodium we eat? Check the nutrition facts label on food containers and packages. Less than or equal to 5% daily value is little. 15% of sodium is a lot.

- At home, eat few ready-to-eat or take-out food. Taste your food first before adding salt. Use spices for cooking as salt substitution.
